Prices ease on reduced yard

A further reduction of numbers saw 187 cows and 11 bulls penned at the VLE this week with the regular buyers in attendance.
Quality was plain to average which saw most cow grades selling at easier prices.
In the cow run, medium and heavy weight D3 score cows of average quality made from 173 cents to 197 cents to be six cents per kilogram easier.
The few cows with more cover sold firm to marginally dearer, making from 190c to 204c/kg.
The plain one score dairy cows ranged from 127 cents to 150 cents, which was up to nine cents cheaper.
The limited supply of bulls sold to stronger competition for the better quality animals, with C score lots being up to 20 cents dearer, ranging from 189 cents to 229 cents to processors.
