Barbara Smedley with her adoring daughter Bronwyn Smedley Read.
"Bronwyn Smedley Read Where to start? Well, I reckon the best thing about my mum is her overall generosity. For the love she gives to us her children, to her grandchildren, to her sisters, brother, cousins and pretty much everyone she meets. If you have met my mum you will never forget her. She opens her home that's filled with love, warmth and endless amount of food on offer. From the fresh veggies and the fruit picked from the trees to the flowers hand picked and tied off in hay band by dad. If you leave our home you usually leave with what I call a Mt Burnett Showbag. The best biscuits are put out for visitors and the kettle is always on. She loves a chat. Actually, even her voice mail message on her phone is "Hi, you have called Barb, otherwise known as miss Hava Chat" how cute is that. She always has a handkie when I need one and a warm hug that lasts for ages. When she calls you you're lucky to get a word in but we wouldn't have it any other way. I love my mum more than she will ever know. Even though I tell her through my infamous 'Love You' phone calls when I have had a few fizzes (alcoholic beverages) at any time of night. We would be totally lost without her and I hope she really realises how much Donna Smedley Bronwyn Smedley Read and Linda Smedley all love her very very much. We will all catch up with mum on that day when we can and we will spoil her as she well deserves. So from me to you, mum, happy Mothers Day. I love you."
