Folk club boasts Champion sound

Greg Champion combines a unique blend of comedy, sport parodies and country folk music into his performances.

A BERWICK entertainment venue will be filled with the musical sounds of a Victorian artist best known for his sporty take on song writing.
Greg Champion, a singer-songwriter, comedian, and radio presenter will perform at the Berwick And District Folk Club (BADFOLK) on Friday 19 June.
The Benalla born musician, known best for his unique integration of comedy and sport parodies into his country, folk music, will hit the stage from 7.30pm.
Having started producing his Aussie Rules music hits since the ’90s, Greg’s music versatility extends far beyond the sporting fields.
Greg’s musical portfolio include more moving and descriptive songs, which explore what makes someone an Australian – drawing links to the work of John Williamson, Eric Bogle and Ted Egan.
Greg’s successful radio career began in 1983 during his involvement with community radio show the Coodabeen Champions which now features on the ABC.
He has performed at three AFL Grand Finals and several one-day cricket finals during his music career.
