Carole King comes to life

The music of the legendary Carole King is coming to the West Gippsland Arts Centre.

A SPECTACULAR concert featuring the music of the legendary Carole King is coming to the West Gippsland Arts Centre.
Following a sensational season at the Arts Centre Melbourne where it played to packed houses and received standing ovations at both of its shows, Carole King – The Songbook of Her Life pays tribute to and celebrates the life and music of this award winning songwriter and performer.
Carole King is considered to be the most successful female songwriter of all time with 118 pop hits in the Billboard Top 100 Charts, winning four Grammy Awards in one year and selling more than 25 million copies of her album Tapestry.
“We are extremely excited about bringing Carole King – The Songbook Of Her Life to the West Gippsland Arts Centre,” said Margaret Fisk AM, producer at JTM Productions.
“Our last show here was California Dreaming, all about the Mamas and Papas, and now we can present another music legend.”
The concert transports audiences back to New York City in the ’60s and King’s legendary demos before going on a musical journey capturing 50 years of her song-writing.
With the pop-rock sounds from the Wonderland Avenue Band and featuring the powerhouse vocals of Green Room Award Winner Michelle Brasier, Jessica Papst and Erin Herrmann Young, the show includes 32 greats hits from Carole’s staggering catalogue including You’ve Got a Friend, Natural Woman, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, I Feel the Earth Move, It’s Too Late, and Hard Rock Café.
Carole King – The Songbook of Her Life is at the West Gippsland Arts Centre on Friday 20 May at 7.30pm.
