Since opening in 2005, Fernlea has supported hundreds of local families to keep their loved ones at home and independent as long as possible as they age or become unwell.

So what makes Fernlea different? They are local, with strong connections and commitment to the local community. Fernlea services are holistic, person-centred, and complement clinical palliative care. Fernlea work in partnership with and support the carer, because they recognise the pressures that carers can face.

Fernlea can provide a range of services to help you when you need it most.

With day respite centres in Emerald and Pakenham, Fernlea clients – who are called guests – can come for the day, while giving their carer a break. Fernlea only takes a small number of guests each day, so we ware able to provide the most attentive care, and to build meaningful relationships with the people they care for. Guests enjoy a chef-cooked morning tea and lunch, complementary therapies including Reiki and massage, time for social interaction, relaxation and tailored activities matched to their abilities and interests.

Fernlea also offers in-home care, provided by qualified staff and tailored to the clients’ needs. This includes showering, feeding, dressing, medications and wound management, help with household tasks, companionship and outing, and respite for carers.

Fernlea work hard to keep their fees competitive, and with no lock in contracts, Fernlea’s services are a personalised and flexible way to meet your changing needs.
