A 38-year-old man has been arrested following a burglary in Berwick last week.

A jewellery store on O’Shea Road was broken into about 2.40am on Thursday 1 August.

Once inside the premises it’s alleged the offender smashed a display cabinet and stole 48 men’s rings.

Information received led Detectives from Casey Crime Investigation Unit to execute a warrant in Berwick about 3pm the same day.

They arrested the Berwick man and recovered the stolen property.

He was charged with theft and burglary and bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 30 September.
