Senior constable charged

A Senior Constable from the Southern Metro Region has been charged by the Professional Standards Command.

The officer was charged with offences relating to the use of an optical surveillance device while off duty. It’s believed the incident took place in May 2019.

The member was suspended from duty and has been summoned to appear at court at a later date.

A spokesperson from Victoria Police was unable to release information to the Gazette regarding what station the officer was based.

The Southern Metro Region encompasses Cardinia, Casey and Dandenong along with Bayside, Kingston and Frankston.
