On Friday 2 September, St Michael’s Primary School celebrated its annual Footy Day fundraiser.

Footy Day was a morning of AFL football fun hosted by the school’s Grade 6 house leaders.

Children came to school dressed in the colours of their favourite football team.

In the lead up to Footy Day, the community donated money towards their favourite team.

When Footy Day arrived, the Geelong Cats supporters celebrated the glory of the most funds raised, affording them two victory laps to their team’s theme song at the parade.

The parade was followed by a ‘Footy Kick Off’ competition on the oval.

Children and parents alike displayed their drop punt and torpedo skills in front of the whole school community.

Overall, St Michael’s Footy Day raised more than $2700 with the Grade 6 leaders voting to donate the proceeds to Diabetes Australia.
