DROUIN GOLF

THEY talk about the luck of the Irish… well, there was no such luck involved in Jim McCormack’s Saturday effort, just good golf.
With a 62 Jim won C Grade, the Monthly Medal and to top it off, the Medal of Medallists. It certainly was a case of, “When Irish eyes are smiling”.
He didn’t have things completely his own way though, as scoring was very good all round. Mark Allen’s 68 was a sub-par round good enough to win A Grade while Leigh Gordon took out B Grade with 66. Balls down the line went to; Jim Gregory 66, Norm Ling 67, Robert Batten 68, Phil Edwards 69, Richie Thomas 69, Mick Lithgow 69, Henk Van Deuren 69, Ray Haley 69, Graham Moon 70, Rob Woodward 70 and Bob Porter 70. Nearest the pins were; Laurie Pyle 5th, Paul Lunt 8th,while Shane Pallant won the 10th and 14th (pro pin).
