Kinder works
Cardinia Shire Council has announced an upgrade to the Pakenham Main Street Kindergarten.
Insight Construction Group will carry out the redevelopment, which will include an expansion to allow the centre take on additional enrolments.
The $543,260 works will include a 100 square metre extension of the current facility which will accommodate a new multipurpose area, storage room, staff room and amenities.
A new covered outdoor play/ storage space will be also built and children’s amenities will undergo refurbishment.
The council described the project as “a great outcome for the local kinder community.”

Upgrade to deadly intersection
The intersection of Thirteen Mile Road and Bunyip River Road, Vervale, will undergo safety improvements.
Cardinia Shire Council at its 11 December council meeting announced the roads will undergo a $557,714 upgrade to realign the intersection.
According to the council, the intersection was a “high priority” for safety improvements due to it being the site of several serious crashes as well as a recent fatality.
The project will be funded by a grant from the Federal Government’s Blackspot Program and A1 Civil Pty will carry out the works.

Tigers coming to town
Residents are being encouraged to head to Beaconsfield’s Holm Park Recreation Reserve on Tuesday to see the Richmond Football Club in action.
This year’s AFL Grand Final champion will be visiting for an open training session.
Fanatics can watch their beloved team in action from 5pm and will have the opportunity to purchase merchandise and memberships.
Cardinia Shire Mayor Collin Ross said the event was an affordable, family-friendly way for fans and local kids to meet the players face-to-face and see them train without having to travel into the city.
“We’re thrilled to be welcoming the Tigers back to Cardinia for their pre-Christmas training session,” Cr Ross said.
“It’s the perfect opportunity for families and fans to kick back and relax in the midst of the busy festive season.”

Community representatives appointed
Some very worthy residents have been appointed to the Lang Lang and Kooweerup Township committees.
Councillors have announced that Cythia Gane will lead the Lang Lang Township Committee, supported by Liz Wilson as Vice President, Di Comber as secretary and Elizabeth Gregorovich as treasurer.
Bob Comber, Ken Robinson, Peter Hayden, Jean Hayden and Travis Davidge will serve as committee members.
In Kooweerup, Rob Mure will lead the committee, with assistance from treasurer Cathy McNulty.
Frank Crameri, Lou Bucello, Dave McPherson, Audrey Mills, Gus Moore, Trevor Westmore, Joyce Light, Frank Worcester, Valma Walker, Geoff Stokes and Gwen Lengersdorf round out the committee as members.
Port Ward councillors Ray Brown and Graeme Moore welcomed the appointments, describing them as “very worthy representatives”.
