A man has been charged following a fatal collision on the Princes Freeway in Officer in May.
It is alleged a truck was travelling Melbourne-bound when it collided with a sedan travelling in the same direction on 15 May.
The driver of the car, a 78-year-old man from Pakenham, sustained life-threatening injuries and later died in hospital on 21 May.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives last night charged a 35-year-old man with dangerous driving causing death, drive in a manner dangerous and careless driving.
The Ferntree Gully man has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this morning.
