Authorities are yet to track down two pranksters, who lit a fire along the railway line at Beaconsfield on Tuesday 15 January.
Emergency units attended the small grass fire near Brunt Road just after 12pm.
A witness said the blaze was lit by two young males on bikes, who took off after they were sighted.
