As a way of introducing girls to football, the Officer Junior Football Club held a free girls only clinic on Friday.
The popularity of girls’ footy has well and truly taken off, and girls interested in the sport were encouraged to get involved.
Over 90 girls, aged from four to 16, were keen to get out on the ground at the Heatherbrae Recreation Reserve in Officer and practice their football skills.
Coaches from the Officer Junior Football Club ran the day, along with the help of development coaches from the Melbourne Football Club Next Generation Academy.
