Busy agenda for country women

THE Pakenham Country Women’s Association had a full and busy agenda during the February meeting after the Christmas and New Year break.
The association recorded a 90 per cent attendance of its members with four ladies visiting.
The March meeting on Association Day, the first Wednesday of the month, is a fun day with entertainment and members converge from branches in Rosebud, Noble Park, Cranbourne, Bunyip and Dandenong.
The association will also host the West Gippsland C.W.A Group annual meeting and autumn conference tomorrow, Thursday 18 February at the Uniting Church Hall, James Street, Pakenham.
Councillor Collin Ross of Cardinia Shire will open the meeting at 10am and Mrs Doreen Napier, C.W.A. Club chairperson will be the guest speaker. Members from the seven branches in the group will be attending and new executives will be elected to take over the position in May following the State Conference to be held at the Melbourne Town Hall.
Membership of the Country Women’s Association is growing and it is planned to open an evening/ twilight branch in Lakeside and Pakenham to cater for the needs of career women, young mothers and women who wish to be part of a friendly organisation, which contributes to the community.
The organisation tackles social issues and assists with personal development, leadership and crafts.
