Brace for snow

MT BAW Baw is getting ready for this year’s snow season!
The official 2010 opening of the Mount Baw Baw Alpine Resort Snow Season will be celebrated over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend on June 12-14.
Neerim South local, Denise Drysdale will be officially opening this year’s ski season.
A stack of free and fun activities for all the family are planned including a mountain talent quest show, marshmallow toasting (and of course hot chocolates!), three-legged races with Frosti frog, a local produce table, cooking demonstrations, yoga classes and massage.
Chief executive officer of Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort Management Board, Leona Turra, said that she was very much looking forward to the official opening of the 2010 season over the long weekend and hoped she would be able to dust off her snowboard.
“I’m excited about the Queen’s Birthday weekend and can’t wait for a snowboard … so I’ve got my fingers crossed for some snow, “ Ms Turra said.
Mt Baw Baw’s focus in 2010 is all about encouraging people that have never been to the snow before, to ‘give it a go’.
