NARRE Warren Rotary club members gathered last week to present this year’s Norm Barr vocational award to Pakenham’s Gary Anderson.
The 20-year-old the Norm Barr Award – a plaque and a $500 cheque – was presented during Wednesday night’s Rotary meeting at the Fountain Gate Hotel.
It goes to the most outstanding student in the electronics department at Chisholm TAFE in Berwick each year, in memory of the late Norm Barr, who died from bowel cancer at the age of 54.
Mr Barr was a past president at the Rotary Club of Narre Warren.
Mr Barr’s son, James, presented Mr Anderson with the award, saying it was a reward for his hard work and dedication.
Mr Anderson said he was surprised and honoured to take home the award.
