Jewell at Red

THE Annual General Meeting of the Berwick/Upper Beaconsfield Red Cross Unit was held on Friday 9 July.
Chairwoman Wendy Keogh welcomed members and guests. Among the special guests was regional chairwoman Mrs Don Jewell, who conducted the changeover of office bearers.
Wendy Keogh retired as chairwoman, a position she had held for two years.
Wendy has a deep involvement with the Lioness movement and is now looking after all the Lioness Clubs of Victoria and Tasmania. She is also zone chairman for the Lions as well as club secretary and vice president for Lions.
Marion Limpus a long time member of the Berwick/Upper Beaconsfield Red Cross Unit is warmly welcomed as incoming chairwoman.
The positions of secretary (Pam Sparrow) and treasurer (Helen Hardiman)remain unchanged.
The guest speaker was a representative of Advanced Living.
Unit members will be in attendance at the mobile blood bank at the Narre Warren North Hall in A’Beckett Road the first week of August from Monday to Friday.
Winter always finds an increased need for new donors as stocks of blood can become low if regular donors suffer from winter ailments and are unable to attend.
