The heavens opened as the game started. The court was slippery and the wet ball made it tricky to catch. Berwick maintained the lead for three quarters. In the second half, the girls adjusted to the wet weather, maintaining possession. The intensity of the players lifted, and the Beaconsfield girls finished with a four goal win. It was an awesome and exciting game to watch, with Alex O’Sullivan voted best on court.

The Beacy girls were fired up, well prepared and out to prove a few things. The girls won three out of the four quarters and drew the other. It was completely a team effort, the bench support was amazing. The goalers were in sync and on fire, missing minimal shots. The defenders were tight and applied the pressure to a strong goaling duo. The centre court were the playmakers, shutting down Berwick’s tough attack end and driving it back into the Beacy end, feeding beautifully. Throughout the whole game the Beacy girls never switched off, capitalising on turnovers and outclassing the undefeated Wickers, proving these girls are still a force to be reckoned with.

A top of the table clash meant everything was up for grabs – especially number one position on the ladder. An intense first quarter displayed Berwick’s strong defensive abilities and saw Beacy up by five at the first break. With a minor change, Beacy settled into a good rhythm and this continued for the next half. Beaconsfield worked well as a team to shut down the opposition goalers, which highlighted the ability of the defenders. The Beaconsfield midcourters proved their fitness capabilities, running out the four-quarters in style. A great team win to the Beacy girls, almost cementing their top of the ladder spot until season’s end.
