Mackley girls centre of action

The Beaconsfield girls continued to capitalise on the successes they have achieved in the last few weeks, with a convincing win over Doveton. Amy Mackley played a great game in centre and wing defence, getting back to the form she is capable of producing.
While on the Mackley girls, Corrine was impressive in the goal circle, playing a strong holding game. Erin Davey is getting better and better each week and played another great game in wing and goal defence. Congratulations to all of the girls on another standout team performance.

From the outset, the girls dominated the court. Working as a team, they played textbook netball and converted turnovers to perfection. The midcourt worked the court beautifully and fed to the goalers with precision-like passes. The goalers converted turnovers with their accuracy and the defenders had the Doveton goalers looking for answers. It was a classical team effort, which showed on the scoreboard, 56-20. This week’s game started a little rocky with a few injuries and the team a bit flat. Beaconsfield had to work extra hard to maintain momentum from last week’s fantastic win and with Doveton in finals contention, the game was never going to be easy. After a slow and unsettled first half, the team were down to just seven players with under 15 player Danielle Cameron stepping up to do a great job running the centre in the last quarter. The game was a bit sloppy but Beacy found their flow to finish the game on a high.
