The rock steady Eagles are ready

BEACONSFIELD produced a consistent effort to dispatch ROC by 99 points at Perc Allison Oval.
The Eagles kicked five goals to nil in the opening term and were rarely challenged in the next three quarters.
“We had one of our best performances for the year,” Beaconsfield coach Aussie Jones said. “We really stuck to everything we aimed to achieve. It was a really good four-quarter performance. We were pleased with how our midfield worked and our defence has been working for us.”
Even without Ryan Donaldson, Beaconsfield had few troubles in the forward line, with 38 shots on goal.
“One of the good things is that we’ve got good forwards and we’re pretty confident we can kick a lot of goals,” Jones said.
The win secures Beaconsfield in the top three, with the prospect of finals creating a massive buzz.
“The whole club is excited about finals,” Jones said. “It’s been four or five years since we played finals. Obviously, that’s on the horizon, but to be honest, I’m really trying to manage the guys day to day, week to week. They’re all aware we’ve got Narre in the finals, but we’re just trying to get the guys focused on what they have to do now.”
The Kangaroos old firm again stood up, with coach Kris Fletcher and Ben Tivendale gathering many possessions.
Veteran Ash Comer, emerging ruckman Dane Roy, Michael Brown and the consistent Phillip Nanfra tried hard.
The season cannot finish quickly enough for ROC, who has only won twice.
