DROUIN’S Charlie Hamilton has missed out on becoming Australia’s Milkybar Kid by the skin of his teeth.
Instead a boy from Carindale, Queensland, was selected yesterday morning.
Although he was disappointed about the loss, Charlie, who was very popular with the public vote, said he had a great time.
“I liked the acting the most,” he said.
“They sent us a sheet of paper that was an act and then we had to practise it.
“When we went down to Sydney we had to do it in front of the judges.”
After the seven-year-old’s initial audition, he was selected as part of the top 28 and flown to Sydney for another audition where he then became part of the top 10.
“Sydney was good, we went in this place and we got a bag of Milkybars,” Charlie said.
For being a finalist, Charlie was given $500 and he already knows what to spend it on.
“I want to buy an iPod touch and I don’t know what else yet,” he said.
As for the future, Charlie aspires to become an actor.
“I’m not going to do competitions any more, I’m going to do real ads,” he said.
