FROM caravanning adventures to trips around the world, Emerald’s Maurice and Irene Webster have certainly enjoyed 60 years of wedded bliss.
Each other’s first love, the couple met as teenagers, Maurice 15 and Irene 13, in their local town of Skelmersdale, England.
They are parents to six children, Carol, Shirley, David, Lynn (deceased), Darren and Jamie, 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
The pair courted for their teenage years before marrying when Maurice was 20 and Irene 18, at the Methodist Chapel in Skelmersdale.
Shortly after their wedding they moved to Germany where Maurice was posted in the RAF – this is where they had their first child.
They moved to Australia in 1965, where they spent many of the early years travelling around the country in a caravan with their young family.
Their love of travelling still stands today with them regularly going on adventures in their caravan.
