WHAT Melbourne would do to be able to slot Jesse Hogan into their forward line this weekend…

The key forward prodigy booted six goals in the Casey Scorpions’ impressive 28-point win over a strong Northern Blues outfit at Casey Fields on Saturday, giving success-starved Demons fans something to salivate over.
The Scorpions, taking to the field decked out in the traditional Springvale Football Club guernsey, led almost all afternoon in their 13.14 (92) to 9.10 (64) triumph.
The Northern Blues were stacked with AFL talent, including midfield ace Andrew Carrazzo, who is in the final stages of a return to the Carlton side.
Nick Duigan, reigning Morrish Medal winner Nick Graham, Robbie Warnock and Carrazzo all enhanced their prospects of an AFL call-up but it was Hogan who completely stole the limelight.
He also snared 10 marks in addition to his half dozen goals which takes his VFL season tally so far to 30.
Hogan kicked the first two goals of the game – showing a real purpose, setting the tone for what was to come.
Local product James Magner and the highly-rated Tom Couch shone in the centre of the ground for the Scorpions, while Josh Tynan, Mitch Gent, James Strauss and Luke Tapscott also more than played their roles. Warnock and Tom Wilson each bagged two goals for the Blues.
The Scorpions’ clinical win sees them atop the VFL ladder after round 12, level on points with Geelong.
Casey will travel to Avalon Airport Oval in Werribee to take on the Tigers this Sunday from 2pm.
