Prize Corgi’s safe ’n sound

Former champion showdog Brook was presumed stolen from Chadstone Shopping Centre on Monday, but was returned safe and sound to her Beaconsfield owner on Wednesday.

A PARTIALLY deaf prized pooch was returned to her Beaconsfield owner on Tuesday following a lonely night in a Chadstone car park.
The much-loved retired champion show dog was presumed stolen outside the shopping centre on Monday as she waited in her owner’s Honda CRV.
Brook the corgi was located at about 8.30am the following morning waiting patiently for a cuddle and a warm bed.
She was said to be doing well and was expected to be reunited with her owner, a Beaconsfield woman, on Tuesday afternoon.
Police believe the vehicle, with dog secure inside, was simply misplaced and there are no suspicious circumstances.
Apparently the local grandmother had parked her car at the Dandenong Road (Myer) end of the single-level car park.
When she returned a short time later, she could not find her car and believed it and the 12-year-old retired champion show-dog had been stolen.
Thankfully, no foul was involved, just confusion in the renovated car parks.
Police thanked the media and the community for their help.
