AN 18-year-old Pakenham man has issued a public apology for his behaviour following a drunken Saturday night and a poor decision.
Two weeks after Tyson Thomas went on a drinking binge, he was recovering in Dandenong Hospital with a black eye, a few scratches and a guilty conscience.
He has described himself as a “bloody idiot” for his actions.
At 2am he left a friend’s party in Kooweerup after drinking heavily, it was the first day off he had had in a month and he was ready for bed.
He would only get a few minutes down the road before he lost control of his car and his car ended up face down in a drain.
“It was a massive binge and a massive mistake,” he said.
Paramedics, police and parents from the party that Tyson had left just moments before the horror crash are among the people that Tyson wants to say sorry to for his anger and aggression towards them.
He has been told he was ungrateful for their help.
On a Kooweerup Facebook group, he posted a sincere sorry and asked anyone who wants a personal apology to contact him.
“I was quite aggressive from what I have been told – they were just doing their job,” he said.
In the days after the accident as he pieces together the memories of a night he’d rather forget, Tyson believes he’s lucky he’s recovering with only minor injuries.
“Technically, yesterday I should have been put in a plot in the ground,” he said.
