Outlaws on the run

HUNDREDS of police officers from across the state swooped on Outlaws bikies in Bunyip as part of a huge sting ahead of their national run this weekend.
Smaller groups of the gang roared through Officer and Pakenham on Friday afternoon as police caught up with the 150 riders down the road in Bunyip as part of a “vehicle checkpoint” operation.
Inspector Jason Kelly said police from the eastern region, southern metro region and Australian Federal Police joined forces to process the riders between Tonimbuk and Bunyip.
Riders gathered at the Caltex Station once they had been cleared by police.
“Approximately 150 motorbike riders from the Outlaw Motorbike Gang have ridden here and formed in the Officer area and are now heading after this vehicle checkpoint is finished to the eastern region of the state,” Insp Kelly said.
“What I want to get across to the public is the reason for conducting the vehicle checkpoint is to ensure the public have some confidence that Victoria Police is monitoring the activities of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gang today and over the weekend on their national run.”
