Skies clear for super show

HE’S been keeping an eye on the weather for nearly a month, but finally the time has rolled around and the Berwick Show is here.
At the helm this year, Tom Gibson is expecting a great day out for all and is positive that a good forecast this Saturday and Sunday will encourage huge crowds to Akoonah Park on the weekend.
A huge line-up up of events and activities will run throughout Saturday and Sunday, with the Saturday night fireworks sure to draw a crowd once again.
Mr Gibson said it is the biggest event in the City of Casey and the attractions cater for everyone.
“I hope to see families and kids have fun and enjoying all of the activities,” he said.
“With the cooler weather we are expecting some larger crowds than years before.”
Mr Gibson said the show is supported by a committee of about 70 people who are each working hard to make the show a success.
From art displays, to food stalls, tomato growing competition and the fly dogs, there will be something there for everyone.
The show will kick off at 9am on Saturday 22 February and will run through to 9pm, with the gates opening again an 9am on Sunday until 5pm that afternoon.
