Superbikes offer so much more

Enjoy the excitement and speed at Phillip Island.

Phillip Island’s three day World Superbike Championship is big value, with action and entertainment for all the family.
There’s 14 races from six categories on the program – world championship classes, world superbike and world supersport, and local classes for Australian superbike/prostock Australian supersport in the Phillip Island Championship, plus historics for the veterans and the MRRDA juniors for 12-16-year-olds.
Local attractions, restaurants and retailers are adding to the entertainment package with exclusive offers for those attending the event to make it a perfect family weekend escape.
Tickets are on sale now for the three day world superbikes, with bargain deals to be had.
A three-day pass purchased in advance is just $99 for an adult, with children aged 15 and under free, if accompanied by a full paying adult.
The $99 deal ends on Wednesday 19 February at 2pm so would-be visitors are encouraged to get in quick to secure family passes.
Three day pass are $150 at the gate.
Trackside camping is also a bargain at $80 per adult, purchased in advance, or $110 at the gate for four nights under the stars.
Children aged 15 and under, accompanied by a full paying adult can enter for free.
To keep campers entertained, there are different bands playing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
Those who want the best view in the house can try Bar SBK for $250 for three days (only available in advance) with undercover, licensed viewing areas at three of the circuit’s best viewing areas – Doohan Corner, Siberia and Lukey Heights.
In addition, each Bar SBK location faces a super screen so at any moment visitors can glimpse at the big screen to watch the lead action across the entire 4.45 kilometre circuit.
There is bike parking close by each Bar SBK undercover facility which allows fans to easily move from one Bar SBK site to another.
Visitors don’t need to book their prime viewing seat because with a Bar SBK pass they can just wander at will knowing they always have a spot at a Bar SBK.
It’s also comfortable because each Bar SBK has a licensed bar where fans can buy beverages and are close to eating outlets.
And having access to the Bar SBK undercover facility for all three days means visitors are protected from the weather, no matter how hot or cold.
“Bar SBK is a great value ticket,” says Fergus Cameron, managing director of the Phillip Island circuit.
“You can sit right above Doohan Corner and watch the superbikes come flying past at the exit of Gardner Straight.
The supers are all hitting around 300 k plus there, and from Bar SBK you can see from Doohan Corner all the way to Stoner Corner and through to turn four in and out of Siberia and even over the top of Lukey Heights.
“A Bar SBK pass gives you portability and convenience at the right price.
“You can move from one location to another at your whim, and easily park your bike close to each facility.”
Bar SBK pass holders also get access to Free Paddock Friday and to autograph sessions with the leading riders scheduled Friday from 10.15am-12.15pm in the Paddock Show.
All residents of the Bass Coast Shire have free entry on the Friday of the event, all they have to do is show proof of where they live to gain entry.
In addition, their world superbike ticket allows them to take advantage of many Phillip Island offers from local attractions, eateries and accommodation houses.
