Kids move on prize

LANG Lang Primary School’s winning streak has continued for another year.
The school has been named the winner of Cardinia Shire Council’s Mobile March Challenge for the second year in a row.
During March, students from across the shire were encouraged to walk, ride, scoot or skate to school.
Teachers tallied a show of hands from children who had travelled to school each morning in an active way.
Lang Lang Primary School students and school principal John Legione proudly accepted the Streets Ahead cup from Cardinia Shire mayor Graeme Moore on Wednesday afternoon.
The school won skateboard lessons for all students.
The council’s Active Children’s Officer Kate Beveridge said the school showed a dedication to fostering an active lifestyle for students by winning two years running.
“Winning the Streets Ahead cup two years in a row shows that Lang Lang Primary School is full of active children inspired to keep mobile and moving,” she said.
“An amazing 5282 students actively made their way to school in March across the shire, which is a super result. We hope the event was great fun for the students, and inspired them to keep active in the months following March, too.”
