POLICE have released an image of a man wanted for questioning after an armed robbery at the service station in Nar Nar Goon last week.
Detective Senior Constable Geoff Howe from the Pakenham Police said the man was described as being in his mid-thirties, about six foot one tall and wearing a dark green jacket, grey tracksuit pants and white runners.
The armed robbery occurred at the Clough’s Service Station about 10pm last Thursday, 28 August.
The female worker who was in the station at the time is unlikely to return to work at this stage, and was described by police as “distraught”.
No other customers were in the station at the time.
The man entered the store last week armed with a black handgun and made demands for cash, telling the worker to “hurry up.”
The man pulled a beanie over his eyes during the attack, but still had most of his face showing.
Police said he took off a short time after in a white, Holden Rodeo ute which also had an passenger. Police would like to talk to either of these men to assist with their investigation.
The Holden car was identified as a 1999-2003 model with distinct wheels, a front nudge bar and bearing no registration plates.
Det Sen Const Howe described the offence as “brazen and violent”, given that the offender was in possession of a gun at the time.
“It’s of great concern,” he said.
In the 35 years that the service station has been in Nar Nar Goon, this is the first robbery of its kind.
Staff at the facility have upped their security measures since the attack.
“They had good safety measures beforehand,” Det Snr Con Howe said.
“But they now have good quality cameras.”
Anyone with information about the incident should phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
