TWO award-winning acoustic and country artists will woo the crowd for a performance to be remembered in Berwick later this month.
Gretta Ziller, a country roots singer-songwriter will be joined by the equally talented Kaitlyn Thomas for a night of great music and better vibes at the Berwick and District Folk Club (Badfolk) on Friday 17 October.
Greta, who won Tamworth’s Songwriter of the Year award in 2013, is a Victorian girl with a load of talent and passion.
Born and bred on the muddy banks of the Upper Murray Region, Gretta spent a great deal of her youth dabbing in musical theatre, jazz, rock and classical music.
But as the years drew on, Gretta returned to her roots by homing in on her talent for country music which has seen her attract the attention of industry heavyweight CMAA Academy of Country Music, among other achievements. Gretta’s talents will be accompanied by another fast-rising star, Kaitlyn Thomas, whose blended country and pop sound will have everyone tapping and singing along.
The singer-songwriter is a talented package, winning the Australian Youth Songwriter of the Year with the Australian Song Writing Association, as well as performing for prestigious companies such as Opera Australia, Disneyland and Universal Studios.
As well as pleasing the ears, Kaitlyn uses her musical skills to help others in need.
Her strong social conscience has seen her perform for various charities such as Relay for Life and the Royal Children’s Hospital as well as the You are my Sunshine Foundation which aims to find a cure for kids with cancer and neuroblastoma.
Both artists, who sing with style and grace, will front the stage at the Old Cheese Factory in Berwick from 7.30pm.
Guest tickets cost $12 while members can score a ticket for $8. For details, contact Christine or Edward on 9702 1223.
