EXPECT a great day of family fun at Saint Thomas’ Annual Flower Show and Market in Bunyip this weekend.
Held on Saturday 8 November at the Bunyip Hall, the seventh annual flower event will offer something for everybody including flower competitions, children’s activities and a wide range of market and plant stalls.
Entries are welcome in the many different flower competitions divided into three main classes: cut flowers and shrubs, floral arrangements as well as a few special categories for primary school students.
The show will also feature a photography section for experienced and novice gardeners to enter a range of shots featuring their home-grown flowers.
Category winners go in the running for several trophies, prize money along with the bragging rights of a beautiful, award-winning garden.
Exhibitors are asked to bring their flowers or photos to Bunyip Hall on Friday 7 November between 9am – 1pm. Entry costs 30 cents.
Those who don’t have a green thumb can come along for the fun as well as look at different market, plant and cake stalls, enter the raffle or get involved with children’s activities.
The Saint Thomas’ Annual Flower Show and Market will run from 9.30am until 3pm. It will be officially opened by Peter Collier, or Noddy, from Drouin Nursery at 10.30am and visitors are welcome to “Make a Post with Glenda” from 11.30am.The show marks 112 years since the church was established in 1902.
