THE midweek pennant has returned to normal play on Tuesdays and with it the winning streak – both teams lost their matches.
The Division 3 open team played at home against Narre Warren and lost zero points 41 shots to Narre Warren (2) side with 16 points and 78 shots. The team of Mary Price, Graham Andrus, Norm Box and Charlie Harris (skip) lost eight shot to 34. Faye Ritchie, Beth Webster, Joyce Andrus and Keith Emms lost 16 shots to 26 but the team of Ashley Graham, Phyllis Watt, Jim Barrie and Paul Currie only lost by one shot, scoring 17.
The Division 4 team played Dandenong Club (3) losing two points 46 shots to Dandenong Club’s 14 points with 65 shots. The team of Michael Wall, Ray Leggett, John Coote and Leon Brown (skip) lost 10 shots to 29 but the other two teams drew. Miles Cahill, Joy Tomlin, Kevin Goonan, and Ray Illing score 16 shots, but Peter Jones, Fiona Samson, Ave Jones and David Laird (skip) scored 20 shots.
Pakenham 1 side played their match on Friday at Mulgrave Country Club and in a close-run match lost – Mulgrave getting 14 points with 80 shots up against Pakenham’s four points with 76 shots.
The individual teams scores were Graeme Wilde, Terry McRedmond, Paul Van der Byl, Neil Drummond 18 to 26. David Laird, Sue Hudson, Chris Fox and Neil Devlin winning 25 to 16. Roger Till, Brian Biasci, David Wood and Dean Rowswell 11 to 22 and the team of Ivan Baric, Peter Gribbin, Kerry Prescott and Ryan Drummond winning by 22 shots to 16.
The remaining three teams played their matches as usual on the Saturday. Pakenham 2 played at Mulgrave Country Club getting zero points but 56 shots against Mulgraves 18 points and 100 shots. Individual teams scores were Trent Bedford, Norm Box, Jim Barrie, and Wally Noy 16 to 21. Danny Allen, Reg Mattingley, Kevin Murphy, and Keith Emms 19 to 22. Barry Johnson, Kevin Donald, Wayne Glew, and Gary Crowley 16 to 27, and Ashley Graham, Paul Currie, Kevin Goonan and Peter Ellis five shots to 30.
Pakenham 3 side played at home winning 17 points and 83 shots against Berwick 6 side with one point and 61 shots. Three sides winning their matches and one team drawing theirs. Side scores were John Coote, Jack Hammond, Ray Illing, Ray Leggett 16 to 13. Graham Andrus, John Seikman, John Donnazzan and Joyce Andrus 20 to 17. Norm Buckley, Lois Mashado, Paul Walter and Charlie Harris 25 to nine. The rink with Roger Platt, Nick Filius, Anne Emms, and Leon Brown drew with 22 shots.
Pakenham 4 travelled to Berwick where they lost four points 74 shots to Berwick’s 14 points with 77 shots, a cliff hanger until the last end. Rinks scores were Julian Dyer, Garry Solomons, Ave Jones, and Ron Hawkins 13 to 17. Jimmy Morris, Fred Bekker, Sam Mazzarella and Josie Mazzarella 22 to 19. Peter Bott, Ken Clifton, John Shelton, and Brent Grigg 19 to 18 and Sharon Bull, Peter Jones, John Hickman and San Granieri 20 to 23.
