Woman on interstate drugs charges

A BERWICK woman will face Launceston Supreme Court on 2 February on drugs charges.
Candice Bos was arrested at Launceston Airport on Friday 24 October following a “significant seizure” according to Tasmanian police.
Detective Inspector Scott Flude said 22-year-old Bos had been apprehended by members of the Northern Drug Investigation Services after arriving on a commercial flight from Melbourne following a tip-off from a member of the public.
He said about 580 grams of methamphetamine with an approximate street value between $550,000 to $600,000 was taped to her upper body.
She was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance and wilfully obstructing a police officer.
Ms Bos appeared in Launceston Magistrates Court last Wednesday and will remain on remand until her next court appearance.
The matter relating to wilfully obstructing a police officer has been adjourned to a later date.
