Handicapper asleep at the wheel

DROUIN GOLF

ON SATURDAY all three divisions were won on count-back in the stroke event. The monthly medal was won by Con Norris in C Grade with 68 from Norm Ling. Paul Davie took out A Grade with 69 from Mick Lithgow and Gordon Warren won B Grade with 69 from Rob Woodward. This was Gordon’s third win in as many weeks – clearly, the request to the handicapper to give the rest of the field a chance was ignored. Balls down the line went to; Norman Ling 68, Mick Lithgow 69, Rob Woodward 69, Merv Peel 70, Lea Caldwell 70, Brad Frost 70, Kevin Johnson 71, Steve Waters 71, and Mark Bowman 71. Nearest the pins were; Graham Austin 14th, Warren Cook 19th, and Gary Burns 23rd and Pro Pin.

Nearest the pins were; Rod Gardner 2nd, John Denholm 14th, Phil Thomson 17th, and 5th and Pro Pin Bob Porter. Mick Whitford had an eagle on the third and given this hole is rated the second hardest hole this was no mean effort.
