FOUR students from Kooweerup Secondary College competed in the Kooweerup and District Lions’ Youth of the Year competition.
Amy Davis, Lachlan Lyons, Selby McDonald and Abby-Rose Kerr were required to complete an extensive application, attend an interview, answer two impromptu questions in two minutes and complete a five minute prepared speech.
It was an extremely tight competition and very hard for the judges to decide on the final winners but Lachlan Lyons was eventually announced the successful winner of the prepared speech and the overall winner for the day.
Lachlan will now compete in Round 2 to be held in March 2015.
