THE state’s largest regional art show is back in town and ready to wow.
The fifth Great Art Show will be held at Cardinia Cultural Centre from Friday 6 March until Sunday 8 March.
The premium art event will showcase a range of different works including Anzac Centenary paintings, comical and satirical portraits of famous and infamous characters, scratchboard pieces as well as contemporary, avant garde and abstract paintings.
The exhibition, organised by Provenance Artists Inc, will reach new heights at the upcoming showcase.
“This year we are taking the exhibition to the next level with even more artists, more woodwork and the introduction of sculptures,” said Calvin Bell from the art group.
The exhibition will also feature the Showstopper section which provides discounted and real contemporary art designed for new home buyers or renovators.
Local artists are invited to showcase their work at the exhibit. Student artists are also invited to enter for their share in a $1000 fine art award presented by Cardinia Shire’s Councillor Kate Lempriere.
Provenance Artists Inc meet weekly for their “painting for pleasure” workshop held in Pakenham and Berwick Springs.
The exhibition will run from 10am until 5pm on the Labour Day weekend.
Entries close Wednesday 18 February. Entry forms are available through www.artshowsofoz.com.
