A JUNIOR basketball team in Pakenham received $500 toward new sporting equipment from a local fast-food giant.
McDonald’s Pakenham store handed the Pakenham Lakers’ Junior Basketball Club the cheque which they will put toward new equipment including training bibs, basketballs, whistles, balance boards and training markers.
The club bought their new equipment on Boxing Day.
In addition to the grant, the local store provides the various Lakers’ teams with sports awards to encourage their efforts each week.
