PAKENHAM Little Athletics Club returned from the festivities for their first week of competition and it was evident that many were still away enjoying the school holiday break.
Numbers were down but those, who attended, were very enthusiastic and the rain managed to clear for most of the morning, which was a bonus.
The athletes are geared up for their first training session, held at Jump Crazy, in Pakenham, on Tuesday, which allows everyone to ease back into the very busy part of the season.
Over the next month or so, the Pakenham little aths has state multis at Newborough, Cranbourne Little Athletics visiting Pakenham for the annual inter-club competition and region track and field championships at Casey Fields, as a state qualifier for the under-9 to under-15 athletes.
The New Year hasn’t deterred the little athletes in Pakenham who have hit the ground running for the second half of the 2014-2015 season.
The Pakenham Little Athletics Club is still encouraging any young budding athletes to come and join in for a free, “come and try” session, at any time.
