CFA CEO says adieu

MICK Bourke has stepped down as chief executive officer of the Country Fire Authority.
CFA chairwoman Claire Higgins paid tribute to Mr Bourke and his achievements over the last six years.
“Mick has led the organisation for the last six years through a period of enormous change and challenges including the post- Black Saturday response, the Victorian Bushfire Royal Commission and the government’s emergency management reforms,” she said.
“Mick is well-respected for his work within the emergency management sector as a leader and a professional.”
CFA executive director Business Services Michael Wootten will act as the interim CEO until further arrangements are made.
