Pakenham Road closed, man airlifted after two-car crash

The man was airlifted after the head-on crash earlier this morning.

UPDATE 11.35AM:

PAKENHAM police Leading Senior Constable Anthony Templar said the 22-year-old Gembrook man was travelling south along Pakenham Road when he was believed to have lost control of his Commodore and slid down the road colliding head-on with a four-wheel drive.

He said the man has life-threatening injuries to his head, chest and legs.

The incident is under investigation by police.

EARLIER:

A MAN in his twenties has been airlifted to hospital following a two-car collision about 9.30am on Pakenham Road near Army Road this morning.
An ambulance spokesperson said the man had been trapped in his car with a serious cut to the head.
Another person was taken to Dandenong Hospital with minor injuries.
Pakenham Road has been closed off to traffic.
