Penguins flock together

The Good Friday Appeal challenge aims to break the Guinness World Record of Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Penguins.

ARE you sick of having to take off your penguin costume before you leave the house?
Well, early next month you won’t have to.
The Good Friday Appeal is hosting a unique event at Phillip Island on Saturday 7 March where crowds are expected to form dressed in penguin costumes to break the current Guinness World Record.
Last year, Phillip Island’s waddling champions raised $31,621 for the appeal while San Remo raised almost $12,000.
The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal raised a record $16.8 million last year – ringing up a total of $274 million since the initiative was launched in 1931.
Penguins are asked to arrive at the Penguin Parade car park at 9am for an 11am count to determine whether the Guinness World Record for most people dressed as penguins has been broken.
Currently the title rests in London, where 373 people dressed up as penguins outside City Hall in November last year.
The costume will be provided from 9am on the day and is yours to keep after the count. Entry costs: adults $25, children (under 12) $20, family of four $80.
In 2013, 36,242 inpatients were treated at the Royal Children’s Hospital while 11,833 children underwent surgery.
