A NEW era is dawning for Pakenham racing.
The stunning new facility at Tynong is taking shape, with the first track work being done last Thursday before the run had even risen.
Track rider Ian Virtue (pictured) was the first one around the new world class circuit, which boasts an all-weather synthetic surface as well as a traditional grass track. The new $70 million facility will be open for business next month, with the first meeting scheduled for 26 March.
