Rubbish up the creek

Waste removed by the Friends of Cardinia Creek last year.

By ANEEKA SIMONIS

FRIENDS of Cardinia Creek will put on their protective gloves for the 17th time this year as part of their commitment to clean up their community.
Each year, the group pulls out garbage bags full of waste, including aluminium cans, construction waste and household goods left dumped in surrounding reserves.
The group welcomes the community to take part in the annual Clean Up Australia Day event on Sunday 1 March from 9am at Emerald Road in Beaconsfield (south of the Beaconsfield Tennis Club).
Beaconsfield Flora and Fauna Reserve is maintained by members of the friends group year round.
Morning tea will be provided.
