Renowned authors and television presenters Matthew Evans and Nick Haddow kick off the Casey Cardinia Business Breakfast for 2015.
Matthew Evans hosts the popular SBS TV series Gourmet Farmer, which is now in its third season.
Prior to his life in television, he trained as a chef before becoming a restaurant reviewer.
After five years and 2000 meals as the chief reviewer for The Sydney Morning Herald, Matthew came to the realisation that people who live close to the land have access to the best produce in the country.
This prompted his move to Tasmania where he owns a small farm and grows and prepares his own produce.
He is the author of nine books on food including Real Food Companion, his autobiography Never Order Chicken on a Monday and The Weekend Cook .
Nick Haddow is a highly regarded entrepreneur who founded Bruny Island Cheese in 2003.
The business was presented with the Telstra National Business of the Year award in 2013.
Nick’s obsession with great cheese started when he was given a bucket of fresh goat’s milk while working as a chef in South Australia.
Since then, cheese has taken him around the world before landing him on beautiful Bruny Island in Tasmania.
Matthew and Nick co-starred in all four series of Gourmet Farmer.
The pair also co-authored The Gourmet Farmer Deli Book and The Gourmet Farmer Goes Fishing with their friend Ross O’Meara.
Their books will be available for purchase and signing by the authors at the breakfast event on 11 March at Cranbourne Racing Centre.
