Uniform theft blow to club

Club committee members Martin Jeric and Hank Lenders are not impressed with the uniform disappearance.

A SOCCER club has been set back $1500 following the “mysterious disappearance” of uniforms from the club’s storage facility.
A bag of team jumpers and 16 pairs of football socks belonging to Bunyip and District ‘Strikers’ Soccer Club’s senior team were taken from the club’s storage shed during the off-season.
Club president Adrian Gatti said committee members noticed the uniforms were missing when they went to start preparing for the coming season.
“It is unclear when the theft occurred since the players have been in recess since the conclusion of last season,” he said.
Committee member Linda Jeric is pleading with the thieves to return the uniforms despite already having to outlay significant funds to replace the jumpers.
“We have had to replace these items for the coming season at a great cost to our club,” she said.
“I hope that the culprit or culprits will return these items to a place somewhere in Bunyip where they can be handed back to the club.”
The jumpers are white with green numbers bearing the club name. The socks are burgundy.
Anyone with information about the stolen uniforms is asked to contact club president Adrian Gatti on 0417 590 830.
