CHAMPION Berwick horse riders have taken out first place at a recent national school equestrian event.
Year 11 Haileybury students Amelia Coad and Sam Jeffree both finished in first place at the first National Interschool Qualifier at the Australian Eventing Championships at Wandin Park in the last weekend of March.
Amelia led from start to end in the evA95 class on her horse Poppy and Sam took out the CIC1 class on his horse Calypso.
Sam was also the highest placed Interschool competitor in his division.
Over 600 competitors took part in the inaugural national event which featured 20 different sections.
