Bridge to experience

BERWICK Bridge Club members enjoyed a week of play starting on Friday 10 April, where Heather Saunders and Dianne Nicol took out first place for N/S with 62.26 per cent, followed by David Yoffa and Shirley Collins with 58.165 per cent, and Terry Sheafe and Angela Larsen with 53.53 per cent. First for E/W was Steven Thorne and Bert Romeijn with 59.02 per cent, Sandra Spencer and Patrick Morgan with 55.02 per cent, and Mark Saunders and Rob Osborne with 54.29 per cent.
On Monday 13 April, six tables played. Annette Kirby and Rob Osborne came first with 60.93 per cent, followed by Matthew Tiplady and Julie Day with 57.87 per cent, and Heather Saunders and Sandra Spencer with 57.81 per cent.
On Tuesday 14 April, John Jongen and Jan Smith came first for N/S with 62.50 per cent, followed by Heather Saunders and Dianne Nicol with 54.50 per cent. First for E/W was Michael Mandeltort and Robert Morley with 61.50 per cent, followed by Lalli Prochelle and Mario Prochelle with 55.55 per cent.
On Wednesday 15 April, 10 tables played. First for N/S was David Yoffa and David Happell with 65.50 per cent, followed by Maggie Callander and Shirley Collins with 63.06 per cent, and Terry Sheafe and Heather Saunders with 61.11 per cent. First for E/W was Dianne Nicol and Steven Thorne with 59.22 per cent, followed by Bert Romeijn and Julie Day with 57.87 per cent, and David Carpenter and Valerie Greene with 53.36 per cent.
