Bypass sneak peek fun

RESIDENTS are invited to get a sneak preview of the long-awaited Kooweerup Bypass as part of a community fun day on Sunday 3 May.
The event, which coincides with the KooWee Community Market, invites locals to come down and enjoy a fun day with jumping castles, a petting zoo, entertainment and sausage sizzle in gratitude for their continued patience over the construction phase, said VicRoads Project director Charlie Broadhurst.
“This is an important project for the local community, and we would like to invite them to come along this Sunday to enjoy the local market, kids’ activities and to also walk along a section of the bypass,” Mr Broadhurst said.
“The bypass will be open for traffic in mid May, so this is a wonderful opportunity for the local community to see the finished product and enjoy Sunday morning with their families and friends, alongside our staff that have worked on the project since late 2013.”
The event, put on by VicRoads and Lend Lease, will take place at Gate 40 on Rossiter Road in Kooweerup from 8am – 1.30pm on Sunday 3 May.
Parking is available at Gate 40, Rossiter Road, Kooweerup or at Cochrane Park. There will be free shuttle buses from Cochrane Park to the bypass access at Rossiter Road every 15 minutes.
