Going strong on 101

Elsa Wiltshire celebrated her 101st birthday on Friday 24 April with Gembrook MP Brad Battin, her niece Margie Gemmell and great great niece Elleny Smart at Emerald Glades.

TURNING 101 years of age is a feat most don’t achieve.
But waving the banner of good health and longevity is Elsa Wiltshire who has achieved just that.
The Emerald Glades resident celebrated her 101st birthday on Friday 24 April in the company of friends, family and Gembrook MP Brad Battin.
Niece Margie Gemmel said her aunt, who had lived in Emerald for the past eight years, used to ride 32 miles (about 50 kilometres) four times a week to teach piano.
“She loved sports. She used to walk three kilometres a day up until she turned 90.”Turns out there is more to good health than just the fresh hills air.
